President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met behind closed doors with the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting was held in the midst of controversies surrounding the Senate’s rejection of the nomination of Mr. Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the lawmakers’ call on Buhari to sack and prosecute the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.

The meeting between the two leaders lasted about 30 minutes.

At the end of the meeting, Buhari and Saraki proceeded to the mosque for prayers.

While Saraki was making his way out, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Ita Enang, arrived the Presidential Villa.

Enang has been mentioned as having another security report by the Department of State Services that asked the Senate to consider Magu for the position.

It will be recalled that the Senate Leader, Ali Ndume, had on Monday met with Buhari on the same matter.
