President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over the National Council of State meeting, the first under this administration, with past Nigerian leaders.
Thereafter, the president will commence a three-day official visit to Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday
Sources close to the meeting told metrobusinessnews.com (MBN) that review of the recent #Endbadgovernance protest tops the agenda of the meeting that has in attendance former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari, while former Heads of State, Abdusalami Abubakar and Yakubu Gowon are attending online.
Others attending the meeting include , Governors, Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, and Atiku Bagudu, Budget and Economic Planning
Economy will take serious scrutiny as president Bola Tinubu invited some ministers in some strategic ministries to address the audience for informed advice to the president.
The meeting of the National Council of State is always held to advise the President on policy decisions and other matters that the sitting president might put before them.
Members of the council are the President, Vice President, former Presidents and Heads of State, the Senate President, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, state governors, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Attorney-General of the Federation.
Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo is said to be absent at the meeting.
MBN Further gathered that the ministers at the ongoing meeting were specially invited by President Bola Tinubu to address the Council on the policies and direction of the present administration to allow the members have a first-hand knowledge, before advising the president on the way forward.

Meanwhile, president Bola Tinubu will commence a three-day official visit to Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday.

Disclosing this in a statement on Tuesday, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, said Tinubu will depart Abuja for Malabo, the country’s capital.
Ngelale said Tinubu’s visit to the Central African country is based on the invitation of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
The president will use the opportunity of the visit to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
“President Tinubu will meet with the Equatorial Guinean President at the Presidential Villa on arrival, where meetings will be held between the two leaders and agreements, particularly on oil and gas and security, signed,” the statement reads.
“The President will be accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and other members of his cabinet who will be involved in the signing of agreements and review of opportunities to improve bilateral relations,” part of the statement read.
