2023 Presidency: Finally, Atiku Picks Governor Okowa As Running Mate

Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta state, has been announced as the running mate to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.
Okowa’s nomination was announced and confirmed on Thursday.

This follows the conclusion Wednesday night of a series of meetings between the candidate and the party’s hierarchy on the issue.

Consequently, Atiku made the announcement after a committee set up by the main opposition party to screen the running mates for its presidential candidate.

Okowa was inaugurated as a governor on May 29, 2015 after winning the state elections conducted in April 2015.

“I am delighted to announce Governor @IAOkowa  as my Vice Presidential candidate.

“I look forward to travelling our great country together, engaging with all Nigerians and building a shared future of peace, unity, and prosperity for all. As One We Can Get It Done,” Atiku wrote on his Twitter handle on Thursday.
