Fresh crisis brews in Kogi PDP as chairmanship aspirant rejects election result

PDPFresh crisis appears to be brewing in the opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, as one of the aspirants in the just-concluded State Congress, Mohammed Omuya has rejected the outcome of the election which produce Engr. Sam Uhuotu as the party Chairman.

DAILY POST reports that Engr. Uhuotu polled 1478 votes to emerged as winner as State Chairman of the party at the weekend, defeating his closest rival, Mohammed Omuya, while scored 270.

Omuya, while reacting to the victory of Uhuotu on Sunday, claimed that the state Congress was not free, fair and credible.

According to him, the delegates were not allowed to vote rather some cabal collected the form from them and voted against their wish.

“In a democratic setting, for a party that has so much propagate propaganda against the APC-led Government, it is shocking and heart breaking to see bribed delegates following the instructions of selfish leaders to go against the interest of the majority.

“The congress was never a free and fair congress. It was accompanied by so much abnormalities, where a group of people fill in the booklet of the ballot paper on behalf of the delegate,” he said.
