The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Anthony Ayine as Auditor General of the Federation (AuGF).
Ayine’s confirmation followed the presentation of the report of Senate Committee on Public Accounts by its Chairman, Andy Uba.
The committee had recommended Ayine’s confirmation to the Senate.
President Muhammadu Buhari had in a letter addressed to Senate President Bukola Saraki on December 13, 2016, sought Senate’s confirmation for Ayine as the next Auditor General of the Federation.
Presenting the report, Uba said the committee found that Ayine was qualified for the job during his appearance before the committee for screening.
