FG to invest N72bn on electricity distribution companies – MoS

The Federal Government will invest N72 billion on the 11 Electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOs), towards achieving uninterrupted power supply in the country, Daily Trust reports.

The Minister of State II for Power, Works and Housing, Alhaji Sulaiman Hassan Jara, stated this on Sunday in Gombe while commissioning a 1x30MVA, 132/33KV transformer at the Gombe Transmission Substation.

He said the federal government is investing the money for the DISCOs to improve their network so that the massive investment by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) can lead to economic growth and development of the country.
