NATO has expelled seven diplomats from Russia’s mission to the alliance over the nerve agent attack on British soil this month, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said on Tuesday.
Stoltenberg said NATO had also cut the maximum size of the Russian mission at the alliance to 20 people from 30.
“It sends a very clear message to Russia that it has costs,” he told a news conference.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), also called the North Atlantic Alliance, is an intergovernmental military alliance between several North American and European countries based on the North Atlantic Treaty that was signed on 4 April 1949.
