Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke says his administration’s record in infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture and security gives him confidence that voters will return him to office in the forthcoming governorship election.
Speaking at the ARISE NEWS Town Hall Meeting in Osun State on Tuesday , Adeleke said the people, rather than political parties or federal influence, would determine the outcome of the election.
The governor highlighted the construction and rehabilitation of roads across the state, including dualised roads, bridges and projects linking major cities and communities.
He said more than 350 kilometres of roads had been completed under his administration, with another 160 kilometres currently under construction.
Adeleke rejected allegations by the opposition All Progressives Congress that some of the roads were substandard, insisting that his administration engaged engineers to assess and certify the projects.

The governor said:“Why would I come and do substandard? Are you a certified engineer? Are you an engineer?”
He added that he personally inspected several projects and would not compromise on the quality of infrastructure being delivered to residents.
Beyond roads, Adeleke pointed to the rehabilitation of about 200 healthcare centres, saying the facilities had been equipped with solar power and other essential infrastructure.
He also highlighted his administration’s investment in agriculture, including the provision of tractors, seedlings and other inputs to farmers.
On education, the governor said his administration had taken steps to improve Osun’s position in national education rankings, arguing that his government had inherited a sector that required urgent intervention.
Adeleke also defended his decision to remain publicly associated with music and dancing despite criticism from the opposition, saying his personal style did not prevent him from governing effectively.
“They stand for everything. They stand to dance, and they stand to work,” he said, insisting that dancing was part of his personality and had no bearing on his performance as governor.
The governor further accused the opposition of using intimidation, arrests and violence ahead of the election, allegations he said were intended to weaken his political structure.
He called on voters to avoid confrontation at polling units, urging them to remain peaceful even when provoked.
On his relationship with President Bola Tinubu, Adeleke said he appreciated the President for personally contacting him over issues surrounding the freezing of Osun State government accounts by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
However, he maintained his allegation that some political actors were using federal influence to interfere in the Osun election.
Adeleke also dismissed concerns about contesting against an APC-backed candidate with the support of numerous governors and the Presidency.
Describing himself as a “bulldozer,” the governor said he was confident of victory and maintained that governors from different political parties remained his friends despite their political affiliations.
He also urged security agencies and political actors to ensure a free, fair and peaceful election, stressing that the ultimate decision rested with the people of Osun State.
Adeleke said his administration’s achievements would speak for themselves at the ballot box, declaring that he was confident of securing a second term.
He urged his supporters to avoid violence and allow voters to freely exercise their constitutional rights.
