In its ruling, the court also barred members of the Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) from parading themselves as national officers of the party.

The decision marks a significant development in the ongoing internal wrangling within the main opposition party, which has faced months of legal and political battles over the control of its national structure.

The PDP has been mired in a leadership tussle following its dismal performance in the 2023 general elections, with multiple factions laying claim to its national leadership.
