Trump arrived in Israel on Monday morning, where he addressed Israel’s parliament, the Knesset.

While praising his special envoy, Steve Witkoff, for his negotiating skills, two lawmakers, who are said to be pro-Palestine, interrupted his speech. The lawmakers were quickly ushered away.

Trump quipped that their expulsion was done in a “very efficient” manner.

It’s not clear what the protesters were saying or whether they were both Israeli legislators.

The protest against Trump’s speech came as he was marking the return to Israel of the last living hostages held by Hamas since they were kidnapped during the Oct. 7, 2023, attack by Hamas.

Israel released around 2,000 Palestinians, including 250 terrorists.

Trump will later visit Egypt to participate in Middle East peace ceremony.

The peace deal between Israel and Hamas, facilitated mainly by the US, UAE, and Egypt, came into effect on Sunday.

In the war that lasted over 2 years, no fewer than 67,000 Palestinians were killed, and much of Gaza has been reduced to rubble.

A CNN satellite data analysis indicates that more than 60% of all buildings in the Gaza Strip have been damaged or destroyed since the conflict began. The latest wave of destruction, following the end of the March 2025 ceasefire, is concentrated in Rafah, Khan Younis, and areas around Gaza City.

According to Israeli officials, around 1,200 people were killed during the initial Hamas attack, while 251 were taken hostage. Of the 48 hostages still held, only about 20 are believed to be alive.
