The department of Business Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, class of 1998 has announced the death of Mohammed Sani on Monday, August 4, 2025.
The incident, according to a release by Bagudu Moh’d Waziri, happened along Funtua-Gusau road, where he was killed by kidnappers.
MSS, as he was fondly called, was until his death, the regional manager, North West of Union Bank, Plc.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our dear classmate, Mohammed Sani Sulaiman, affectionately called MSS, whose life was tragically cut short due to the escalating insecurity in our nation. MSS lost his life on Monday, August 04, 2025 along Funtua-Gusau Road to the gruesome action of kidnappers.
MSS recently took up a new role as Regional Manager North West in Union Bank Plc covering branches in the North Western Region of the bank. He was on an assignment visiting those bank branches when this tragedy occurred. His death is a stack reminder of the urgent need for a coordinated action against the rampant insecurity situation in the country that has claimed far too many lives.
As we grieve this immense loss, we are compelled to raise the need to address the alarming state of insecurity that has claimed countless lives, including that of our beloved friend.
In the face of this tragedy, we offer our condolences to the family and friends of MSS while efforts are being coordinated to support the immediate family at this difficult time.. However, our collective grief must not be in vain. We believe it is imperative for our Class and the wider community to speak out against the pervasive insecurity that has plagued our country,” part of the release read.
Consequently, his colleagues have called on the Federal and State Governments to, among others, take “decisive and effective measures to address the root causes of insecurity in our land, ensuring the safety and protection of all citizens, implementation of robust security strategies that prioritize the protection of human life and property, particularly in vulnerable communities.”
