Boeing shares tumbled 5.0 per cent in early trading Thursday after a London-bound Boeing 787 operated by Air India crashed in western India, likely killing all 242 people on board.

Boeing said it was in contact with Air India and stands ready to support them. The aviation giant has been attempting to rebound from a series of setbacks following a labour strike last year in the United States and fatal crashes in 2018 and 2019 of the 737 MAX.
