A staff of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), Mustapha Isa has been killed during a repair operation in Mabushi.

This is even as consumers at some parts in Lokoja, Kogi State capital are complaining about lack of power despite the scheduled rationing by the distribution company.

Most of the residents at Ganaja, 200 units, primary school bus stop, among others,  have been experiencing darkness.

While those at the 200 units have experiencing darkness for over 20 hours daily, those at the other end that have scheduled 9pm to 6am daily, have not been enjoying light as scheduled recently.

Hower, Isa was said to have been fixing a power issue on Thursday, May 29, at the AEDC’s office in Mabushi when he was electrocuted.

According to a counter-terrorism expert, Zagazola Makama, the AEDC employee was fixing the electrical fault at about 5.50 pm when the incident occurred.

Makama said the victim was electrocuted while on an electric pole, fell and sustained a fatal head injury from the unfortunate incident.

He also said that a team of patrol officers were immediately deployed to the scene of the incident.

Isa was immediately moved to the General Hospital in Gwarinpa but he was pronounced dead on arrival by the doctors.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, for autopsy.

Investigation into the unfortunate incident has also been launched by authorities.
