Adding that strong winds might accompany the rains, it advised the public not to drive through surface runoff waters because of strong undercurrents.

Members of the public were also advised to ‘’disconnect electrical appliances before and during the rains.”

Other likely hazards, according to the agency, are “Slippery road surfaces and reduced visibility during the rain which can disrupt road traffic.’’

NiMet warned that strong winds constitute threats to weak structures, trees and masts.
