The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has suspended election in the nine wards in Ogori Magongo LGA of Kogi state due to cases of electoral malpractice.
Mohammed Haruna, INEC’s national commissioner and member of information and voter education committee, announced the suspension of the election in a statement on Saturday evening.

MetroBusinessNews (MBN) gathered that trouble started in the morning when it was discovered that the All Progressives Congress agents were no where to be found in all the polling units.
It was later discovered that the agents of Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) decided to protest on hearing that some chieftains of APC had prefilled the original results sheet.
This led the INEC officials to start packing their materials, an action that disenfranchised the voters.
“I was surprised to see the INEC bus moving away when I was approaching my polling unit,” says a voter who came from Lokoja to perform his civil responsibilities in Ogori Magongo.
