Former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, has been named acting Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, following the resignation of Walid Jibrin.

He has also been named the Political Adviser of the National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, who was believed to have survived the removal plot.

His appointment followed Senator Walid Jibrin, who has just resigned his position as chairman of the BoT of the party
He announced his resignation at the just concluded BoT meeting held at the Wadata Plaza national secretariat of the party in Abuja.
He was said to have opted to leave before expiration of his tenure so as to give peace a chance to reign in the party for the party to be able to win the 2023 presidential elections.Metrobusinessnews.com (MBN) recalls that the chairman had a few days ago promised to step down to assuage alleged lopsidedness in the party’s leadership positions.

Jibrin had earlier lamented that it is not democratic for the northern part of the country to produce the presidential candidate, the national chairman, BoT chairman and PDP Governors Forum chairman.
