There are indications that the South East may have lost out in the battle to produce the running mate to Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP) Presidential candidate, as committee may have recommended Nyesom Wike, as his running mate.

Baring any unforseen changes, the party looks set to present Wike as Atiku’s running mate.

He would therefore pair with the party’s Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in next year’s election.

The recommendation was made by  the committee set up by the party’s People’s National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, to screen three southern governors and recommend one for the role, metrobusinessnews.com gathered from those closer to the leadership of the party.

Wike was runner up at the PDP special convention two weeks ago at the National Stadium, Abuja, where Atiku emerged the party’s flagbearer
