No Regret Fixing APC Presidential Nomination Forms At N100m – Chairman Boasts

Despite growing poverty and impoverishment of Nigerians due to rising cost of goods and services and particularly food items, Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Abdullahi Adamu has said the party has no regret fixing the presidential nomination forms at N100 million.
But most Nigerians say the amount for mere nomination forms for a position whose total official salary for a year is bearly half of the amount, is a 'tacit approval' of corruption and smarks of total breakdown of our value system with government approval and encouragement.
But, Adamu Insists that it was a deliberate ploy to discourage candidates who are not serious contenders from infiltrating the party to cause confusion.
Adamu, who brought the gubernatorial flagbearer of the APC in the forthcoming Ekiti governorship election, Mr Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari, noted that it was also hiked to mobilise sufficient funds to run the elections.

He came to the Presidential Villa Abuja, in the company of the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum and Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi; Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu; and National Secretary of the APC, Iyiola Omisore.

Recall that since the ruling party pegged its presidential nomination forms at N100 million, there have been public outcry and varied opinions about the decision.

While some claim it would compromise the nation’s democratic process, as it would discourage genuine candidates that could effect the much-needed reforms from contesting, others view it as a welcome development.
