The dreaded  Kaduna-Abuja road had witnessed relative peace  for few weeks.

When the railway services were suspended for  some hours due to strike action by the workers, the bandits did not strike.
But the, route experienced many travellers who went either ways for various social activities during the weekend.
But the potholes on many parts and sections of the road remained.
In Kaduna, network was poor in some areas while in others, none at all, due to some measures put in place by the government to checkmate the activities of the bandits.
However, the relative tranquility was disrupted as bandits had in the afternoon on Sunday attacked several motorists on the road, killing some people and also kidnapping an unspecified number of persons during the operation.
A Joint team of security operatives led by the Kaduna state Commissioner of Police, Mudashiru Abdullahi have visited the scene of Sunday’s kidnapping incident on the Kaduna-Abuja to assess the situation on the highway.
On Monday, however, the heads of security agencies including the Commissioner of police, the Garrison Commander of one Mechanized Division, Brigadier General Uriah Opuene, and the Kaduna state Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan visited Kurmin Jarmaa village along the Kaduna-Abuja highway where the kidnap incident occurred.
After an assessment of the situation, the police commissioner ordered the immediate deployment of four armoured personnel vehicles and more troops to the highway.

He also assured motorists plying the road of their safety, saying that the recent attack was an isolated incident.

The CP also disclosed that security operatives rescued eleven out of the unspecified number of those that were kidnapped by bandits in yesterday’s attack
But most Nigerians are still apprehensive by the uncoordinated approaches to curbing insecurity in the country.

It was gathered, for instance that the bandits are hard-hit by the measures taking by the state government, but what has the same government done to prepare for likely reactions from them?
Again, Nigerians are asking about the effect of the SIM – NIN synchronization on managing security in our country and why disruption of communication to finding solutions to issues federal government claimed had tackled head on with the exercise?
