AtikuThe Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal has admitted 48 videos presented by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to prove the existence of a server which was used for the presidential election.

The clips, which were produced by the petitioners’ 40th witness, Segun Showunmi, were to back some allegations raised in their petition challenging the outcome of the February 23 poll.

They played four of the videos to prove that election results were transmitted electronically.

In one of the videos, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Akwa Ibom State, Mr Mike Iginni, said the results of the election would be transmitted electronically.

The defence team, however, opposed the content of the video on the ground that Mr Iginni was not the spokesperson of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The videos were played after a five-man panel of the Tribunal led by Justice Mohammed Garba initially went on a one-hour break.

It had entertained arguments from the lawyers representing both parties on the decision to play the video.
