Abdullahi said the contract for the renovation of mosque, building of toilets and places of ablution for males and females were also at advanced stages of completion.

He said “Inspecting the project early this week, the Chairman of NAHCON, Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad, said the projects were being executed from development levy of N5,000 charged each pilgrim since 2012.’’

Abdullahi said that the ongoing project at Mando was the first phase of upgrading the hajj camp with modern facilities.

He disclosed that the process of awarding the second phase would include the building of a five-star hotel and a clinic at the camp.

The PRO gave assurance that similar projects would be awarded in other pilgrims’ shelters across the country.

He said Muhammad urged the contractor to execute the project according to the contractual agreement and speed up its completion.

He also said that the overseer of Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Imam Hussaini Tsoho –Ikara, thanked the NAHCON chairman for ensuring the upgrading of the camp.

According to him, Tsoho-Ikara promised to closely monitor the execution of the project and ensure that the contractor did not compromise quality in executing the job.
