Mr John Osas, an exhibitor from Benin told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jos that he usually sold more at night as most people visited the arena after close of work.

The theme of the fair is: “Sustainable Development of Micro Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) in a challenging economic environment’’.

“You know people go to work during the day and only come here in evening and night to relax and catch fun after a hectic working day. So, we make more sales at night,” he said.

A trader, Mrs Elizabeth Eden said that she did not bother to go to the exhibition venue to sell her wares during the day due to low patronage.

“I go there in the evening and stay to late night to sell to those closing from work.

“We sleep during the day to enable us work at night, the experience is good and the entertainment is great fun,’’ said Eden.

Ms Bolcit Barshep of Anista Marketing and Events Ltd., one of the organisers of the event said that the entertainment at night was to give both exhibitors and sellers a conducive environment to do their businesses.

She said that the night entertainment at the fair ground also created a platform for upcoming artists and youth entertainers to showcase their talents.

Barshep said that the gate fee at the fair ground was N100 in the day time, but at night, it was increased to N200 due to high patronage.

“We have a life-band to keep the people entertained all through the night, some married couples and other singles come to be entertained and that makes the patronage very high compared to day time,’’ she said.

Barshep, however, urged Plateau residents to patronise the trade fair, which started from Oc. 16 to end on Oct. 28.
