President Muhammadu Buhari is meeting at State House, Abuja, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State over the reported killings of farmers by herdsmen

The killings had occurred in Gbam and Loco local councils.

On Monday, President Buhari ordered the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to move into the state and stop the escalation of the crisis.

This was in addition to another crisis resolution meeting called by the Minister of Interior, Lt. General Abdulrahman Dambazau. The meeting was attended by IGP Idris and governors of Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau, Adamawa, Kaduna and Taraba States.
