Panic in Imo state as Okorocha deploys Soldiers, police officers

A joint team of security operatives from the Police, Army, NSCDC, immigration, DSS and other security Agencies have taken over all streets, roads and junction in Owerri and some other parts of the state in what they termed operation “CHRISTMAS SHOW OF FORCE ” in Imo state.

The Imo State Police Commissioner, Chief Chris Okey Ezike speaking through the Command Public Relations Officer SP Andrew Enwerem said: “the exercise is to reassure the residents of the state, especially those that will be coming for the festive period that the security Agencies are ready and eager to make the yuletide a hitch-free one.”

Meanwhile, the Opposition parties in the state have accused the state government of deploying intimidating heavy security presence in Imo today to forestall the planned Protest against Imo State government in what the organizers tagged “OCCUPY IMO” against bad governance by the civil society and human right organizations.
