NDDCPresident Muhammadu Buhari has sent the names of three nominees to the senate for confirmation as part of the board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
On October 11, the senate had rejected three nominees, noting that their nominations contravened the NDDC Act.
But in a letter addressed to the senate and read by Bukola Saraki, senate president, Buhari said that the new nominees would serve as a replacement to the ones earlier rejected.
“In the accordance with section 228 of the NDDC Act 2000, I hereby present the following nominees to the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for confirmation of the senate of the federal republic of Nigeria,” it read.
“The distinguished senate is invited to note that these nominees are replacement of those that were rejected for not representing the oil producing areas of their respective states.”
The nominees are Lucky Orimiso (Ondo), Chukwa Anwawa (Imo) and Nwogu Nwogu (Abia).
