Presidential Polls To Come Last in 2019‎

Barring any alteration and presidential assent denial, the National Assembly has placed Presidential polls as the last election to be held in 2019.
This followed the consideration and adoption of the report of the House of Representatives Committee on Electoral and Political Party Matters which recommeded that election‎ into the office of the President be held separately and the final exercise in the electoral calender.
According to the new calender as approved by lawmakers on Tuesday, National Assembly elections are to hold first‎, followed by Governorship and State Assembly elections which are to hold simultaneously.

‎The report also created a campaign expenditure ceiling of N5billion for Presidential election, with a punitive measure put in place for violating by any of the political parties.
