The adjustment is expected to reflect at filling stations nationwide in the coming days.

The hike, communicated to marketers on Friday, is attributed to rising crude oil prices and foreign exchange pressures.

Industry sources say the increase follows the recent surge in global crude oil prices to $107 per barrel

Some marketers told Metrobusinessnews.com last night that the pump price could rise to between N1,450 – N1,550/Litre depending on locations and logistics.

Also the attendant transport fare, food prices hikes are being expected.

They further said prices will remain volatile as long as crude stays above $100.[Xth][Month]

The latest adjustment is the fourth upward review of Dangote refinery’s petrol gantry price since August 21.

The refinery had increased the price from N1,165 to N1,185 per litre on August 21 before raising it to N1,200 on August 26. It subsequently increased the price to N1,265 on August 29 and has now added another N85 per litre, taking the gantry price to N1,350.

The successive increases have raised the refinery’s petrol price by N185 per litre, or about 15.9 per cent, in 22 days.

In a circular issued late on Friday by the Group Commercial Operations of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals, the company notified customers of the revised prices.
