Nigeria produced a ruthless performance to crush Mozambique 4-0 in their Round of 16 clash at the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 in Fez, Morocco on Monday, booking a place in the quarterfinals with authority.

The Super Eagles’ front line terrorised the Mozambican defence from the outset. Ademola Lookman opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a fine finish, turning provider moments later as Victor Osimhen doubled the advantage just five minutes later.
Osimhen struck again early in the second half to make it 3-0 and stamp Nigeria’s dominance on the contest, before Akor Adams wrapped up the emphatic victory with a well-taken fourth goal after a swift counter-attack.
The win keeps Nigeria’s quest for a fourth Africa Cup of Nations title firmly on track after they topped their group with a perfect record, scoring freely while showcasing an attacking blend of power and precision.
For Mozambique, making their first ever appearance in the knockout stages, the experience will be invaluable despite falling short against a quality Super Eagles side.
Nigeria will now face the winners of the Algeria vs DR Congo tie in the quarterfinals as they push deeper into the tournament.
