For a law abiding citizen of Nigeria,
Mrs Evangeline Ugochi Njoku, life has become ‘brutish, nasty and short, as she has become a squatter in her home state of Imo, due to the dangerous activities of suspected arsonists and thugs, dressed in military uniforms who burnt down their house with all the valuables in November 2024.

Before then, Mrs Njoku, was living with her partner, Mr. Kennedy Uzoma Njoku at Shama Melody street, Naze Owerri North L.G.A Owerri Imo State.

But life has become nightmares for her now, moving from one house to the other in search of where to stay as the men who came for her husband in November pounced on her, assaulted her after telling them that her husband had travelled.

According to sources, Mrs. Njoku’s life is imperilled by the dare devils, who are after her life, calling on the government and well meaning spirited Nigerians to intervene.

A medical profoma was issued to Mrs. Evangeline Ugochi Njoku to enable her receive urgent medical treatment. Regrettable all efforts to track down the culprits prove abortive, while the entire community remains a ghost of irself.”

On its findings, the police report added that “From the facts and testimonies obtained on the process of investigation, the followings emerged;
“That the residential place of Mr. Kennedy Uzoma Njoku at No. 1 Shama Melody street, Naze Owerri North L.G.A Owerri Imo State was actually set ablaze and valuable properties was destroyed, consequently, Mrs. Evangeline Ugochi Njoku was rendered homeless;
“That Mrs. Evangeline Ugochi Njoku have lived and stayed at the same address with utmost fear as she had previously witnessed several attacks and harassment from unknown assailants before the main incident of 16th November 2024;
“That Mrs. Evangeline Ugochi Njoku was simply attacked on the 16th of November, 2024 for the inability of assailants to locate her partner Mr. Kennedy Uzoma Njoku;
“That on the 16th of November 2024, Mrs. Evangeline Ugochi Njoku was assaulted and being issued a medical profoma;
“That the men who batched into the house on the ‘D’ day couldn’t be traced nor identified but disguised on military uniform;
“That Mr. Kennedy Uzoma Njoku’s life was in great danger that is why he ran away because of previous encounter with military men. And the high level of insecurity that pervades the state in particular and the entire nation as a whole is a big factor.
“Opinion/Recommendation: In view of the fact outlined, it is a challenge to the police to point at a particular person believed or suspected to be the author of the crime, though the General Public Suspected the Eastern Security Network (ESN) who remain at large,
In this case therefore, I am of the opinion that the case be close for want of prosecution for now pending a final trace of the culprit.”
