According to him, the Federal Government should engage the instrumentality of insurance as a faster means of eradicating poverty.

He advocated the use of insurance in the transfer of risks to stem growth and holistic grassroots development as obtained in other nations of the world.

He said that one of the practical ways to tackle poverty was for government to engage and encourage insurance as a vehicle for risk management and wealth creation.

He said the council would rally its professionals at its 2018 National Insurance Brokers Conference and Exhibition to brainstorm on the challenge.

According to him, the theme of the conference scheduled for Thursday, Oct.  18 in Lagos is “Insurance Industry: Survive, Thrive, Grassroots Development and Poverty Alleviation: Insurance as an Alternative”.

Tinubu said facilitators at the conference included the Managing Director, Infrastructure Bank Plc, Mr Adekunle Oyinloye

“Oyinloye is expected to deliver the theme paper titled: “Insurance Industry: Survive, Thrive.”

“The sub-theme: “Grassroots Development and Poverty Alleviation: Insurance as an Alternative,” would be delivered by the President of National Association of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Mrs Iyalode Alaba Lawson,” he said.
