APCPolitical gladiators in Kaduna have continued to cross carpets as the political tension in the state heightens.
On Thursday 7th of June news broke that the former gubernatorial aspirant of APC who came second in the last APC gubernatorial primary in the state, Hon Isah Ashiru Kudan, has dumped the party.
Hon. Ashiru who came second to the incumbent governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai in the guber race under the APC has officially written a withdrawal letter to the leadership of the party in his ward.
The letter dated 7th June, 2018 carrying Ashiru’s signature was addressed to the Chairman of APC in Kudan ward.
Ashiru who was a member of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had defected to APC where he contested alongside Mallam Nasiru El Rufai in the primaries but came 2nd.
In the letter addressed to the Ward Chairman, Ashiru said, when he picked his form, he honestly believed that he was joining a movement that would positively change for good not only the way they play politics in the state, but also in people’s perception.
According to the letter, “This explains why, even after my unsuccessful attempt to fly the party’s flag at the 2015 gubernatorial election, my supporters and I gave our support to ensure the success of the party at the polls, believing that in the short, medium and long term, not only would our contribution be acknowledged and appreciated, but more importantly, the interest and welfare of the people of Kaduna state would occupy the front-burner of the government to be formed”.
He explained that part of the reason for dumping the party was because, him and his supporters were been side-lined from the party’s affairs and have been snubbed and denied recognition by the government he claimed to have laboured for its emergence in 2015.
Ashiru stated that the party lacks cohesion, internal party democracy, respect for the rule of law as well as the decency to respect the feelings and yearnings of all members and supporters, except privileged few, especially in Kaduna State.
