Kogi Leads As Over 1.9 mn Nigerians Submit Applications For Paramilitary Jobs ,FG Closes Recruitment Portal

The recruitment into the Fire Service, Immigration, Civil Defence, and Correctional Services has been officially closed.

The recruitment exercise, which has a total of 1,911,769 applicants, officially ended on Monday, August 11, 2025.

The board announced this via the official X handle of the Federal Fire Service on Monday.

In a statement, the CDCFIB thanked all applicants for their enthusiasm and commitment to serving the nation.

“The official recruitment portal for the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board is now closed. We thank all applicants for their interest and commitment to serving with honour, integrity and national pride,” the statement read in part.

It added that the shortlisted candidates will be contacted shortly.

Applicants have been advised to monitor their email and text messages over the coming weeks for notifications.

“We also encourage you to regularly check the portal and social media handles for important updates,” it concluded.

On the official website of the CDCFIB portal, IntelRegion observes that 1,911,769 Nigerians submitted applications for the recruitment aims to fill only 30,000 positions nationwide.

Kogi has the highest number of applicants, with a total of 116,217 applicants, followed by Kaduna with a total of 114,572.

Meanwhile, Bayelsa has the lowest applicants registered for the recruitment into the paramilitary with a total of 11,676.

The application portal was opened on July 14. Initially scheduled to commence on June 26 and close on August 4, the board extended the deadline to provide interested applicants additional opportunity to be enlisted in any of their desired paramilitary services.
