*As Stakeholders Express Disgust At ‘Show. Of Shame’ At Centre Of Excellence

Most Nigerians have expressed disgust at the display of shame at the Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday, where the public was treated to display of power and impunity over who is the speaker of the state’s assembly, despite the fact that it has become a legal matter.

Nigerians are wondering whether resort to ‘self-help’ has become the norm, where the politicians resort to grabbing power, with the aasisyance of security agencies, run with it, before coming over to ‘intimidate the judiciary’.
“Or else, how does one view a situation where an aggrieved person goes to court and at the same time resorts to self-help, even befor the case is mentioned at the court? And this is happening at the centre of excellence and the economic capital of the country at that?,” says an analyst who preferred to be anonymous.

However, the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja has ordered that all members of the house be joined as parties in the suit filed by Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.

Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Mr. Tayo Oyetibo is leading Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Bimbo Akeredolu and other lawyers to represent Hon. Mojisola Meranda.

Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Femi Falana is leading Senior Advocate of Nigeria Muiz Banire and other counsels to-represent the 36 lawmakers, while Senior Advocates, Olu Daramola and Dada Awosika are representing other parties seeking to be joined in the suit.
