Neymar Jr. became the fourth-highest goal scorer in Paris Saint Germain’s History after his strike against Brest on Saturday, September 10.The Brazilian has been PSG’s best player whenever he is injury free since he arrived in Paris for a world record fee of €222 million in 2017.
While his French teammate Kylian Mbappe tends to steal the spot light with his goal scoring exploits, The former Barca star’s number are actually way too good for a player who is not considered a goal scorer. Neymar’s 110 in 153 outings (0.72 goals per match) betters that of PSG’s all-time highest goal scorer Edison Cavani who managed to score 200 goals in 301 appearances (0.66 goals per match).
By scoring is 110th goal in PSG’s colors, Neymar overtook former Portugal international Pauleta who spent five seasons with Les Parisiens. The PSG legend scored 109 in 211 games for the club before leaving in the summer of 2008.
Neymar has bettered Pauleta’s tally in just 152 games for the French outfit. The Brazil international scored the only goal of the game against Brest, leading his team to a 1-0 Ligue 1 win at the Parc des Princes.

This was his 10th goal this season in nine matches in all competitions. Currently, only Mbappe (180), Ibrahimović (156), and Cavani (200) have scored more goals for PSG than Neymar who is likely to climb up the charts in the next few years.
