Mother Of Governor Yahaya Bello’s CoS Abducted In Kogi, As Reality Of Growing Insecurity Dawns On Government

The mother of Abdulkarim Jamiu Asuku, the Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Seriya Raji, has been reportedly abducted by some unidentified gunmen.According to a report by PM News, the gunmen on Monday evening, December 13, 2021, invaded the residence of Asuku’s mother, and whisked her to an unknown destination.

Residents of Nagazi community in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi where she resides are reported to be in panic over the whereabouts and safety of Seriya Raji.

The development, according to some residents may be the reality of insecurity in the state, but for which has always been down played by the government.
There have been growing incidences of kidnappings, killings and abductions in the state, coupled with the ravaging epidemic of diseases that have claimed several lives, but with the impressions that lives are safe and secure in the state.

However, a resident of Inese/Ovakere new layout in Nagazi community said the gunmen stormed her residence at about 7:40 p.m shortly after she observed the evening (Ishai) prayer.

The abductors according to the source, were six in number.

They were dressed in black suits with masks holding ‘Ghana Must Go bag’ suspected to have contained some guns and other dangerous weapons.

He said they entered her house through the mosque and led her away to a yet to be identified destination using a vehicle they came with.

A security source confirmed the incident adding that, tactical squad have been deployed to the area.

Indeed, there have been series of abductions and gunmen attacks in the state, such as the jail break in Kabba Correctional Centre, among others and some residents worry if the state is under siege
