President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday extended the mandate of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 till the end of March 2021.

Buhari is currently meeting with PTF members and the decision may not be unconnected with the spike in the ravaging virus.
Besides, government is said to be eorried by the emerging variants vonsidered to be more dangerous that the first phase.
This is even as government is mulling ban on international flights to forestall the spread.
It was slso gathered that government, through the PTF is considering stiffer measures to contain its spread.
But, it is said to be worried by the dwindling fortunes ocassioned by fluctuating oil prices at the international market as well as the economic recession.
Going by the earlier plans, the PTF should have been ending down but for the recent developments that have takenost people by surprise and as well as abandonment of the Covid-19 protocols as advised by the relevant institutions and government.
