His plea was not taken.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Alex Komolafe, remanded the defendant in Ikoyi Prison and ordered that the case file be sent to the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.

Komolafe however, adjourned the case until June 5.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Cousin Adams, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on April 15, at 4.45a.m. at General paint Area, Ajah.

He alleged that the defendant, an alleged member of “Aiye confraternity,” had hacked four people to death whose identities are still unknown as at the time this report was made.

According to the prosecutor,  the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 41, 42, 223 and 233 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Section 223 stipulates death sentence for offenders.
