DSS The Directorate of State Security (DSS)  officials on Monday paid an unscheduled visit to the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja.
The DSS officials were said to be on ap peaceful mission to observe the NBA meeting said to be called to discuss the next line of action following the 50 percent  reduction in the earlier charge.
The NBA had called the emergency meeting to discuss the outcome of the protest which took place last week Tuesday when members of the association took to the streets to protest the increase in the land use  charge.
It was further learnt  that the DSS visits to NBA Ikeja was to monitor the scheduled meeting.
It was further lestnt that Adesina, Ogunlana, NBA Chairman,r Adesina Ogunlana queried the mission  of a lady who led the DSS to the venue of the emergency meeting , who responses that their visit was as a result of information about the meeting taking place  on the said land use charge  matter.
“We want to know whether the meeting will hold and what you want to say,” she said.
However  the association was believed to be planning to stage another protest as the ‘reduced land use charge’ was unacceptable to its members.
The Ogunlana led  administration last week staged a protest tagged “walk the talk” against the over 400% increment in land use charge and another over 300% in car registration without having a dialogue with relevant stakeholders .
Ogunlana lamented that if these regimes of tax were allowed to stay, Lagos State would be a living hell.
Adeshina said that the government could not hide under developing Lagos into mega-smart city to kill Lagosians with what he called “pharaoric taxes”.
