The Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC) has advised owners of plots of land in Jabi and Utaki to take possession of their property and develop them, failure to do that would risk imposition of penalties, revocation and reallocation of such undeveloped plots to those with capacity to develop them.
The Council Coordinator, Umar Shuiabu  made this known when he led a team to raid all illegal mechanic workshops, food joints, roadblock and filths among others around Jabi motor park in the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the Coordinator, the area was notorious for being a den for hoodlums and street hawkers who indulge in such nefarious activities, as drug peddling, crimes and illegal mechanic spots, thereby causing discomfort and nuisance to those living around the area. The coordinator, who was represented at both the Jabi and Utako cleaning exercises by Director, Department of Advertising and Signage, Yusuf Ibrahim Yakassai advised affected persons to find lawful places for their business activities, instead of constituting nuisance in the society.
According to him, the FCT Administration would find a way of preventing reoccurrence of such illegality in these areas and in every other place in the FCT because the exercise is going to be a continuous one.
The team comprises of the departments of Development Control, Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB), Parks and Recreation, including security operatives, drawn from the Army. Police, Civil Defence, Immigration and NDLEA for the exercise.
