APC Extends Tenure of National Working Committee With 12 months

APCArising from the just attended National Executive Council of All Progressives Congress  ( APC ) the party  has extended the tenure of National Working Committee  ( NWC ) of the party with 12 months starting from the expiration of their tenure in June 30th .
Addressing journalists after the meeting the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello said the party has  decided to extend the tenure of the National Working Committee  and other executive committees at various levels for another 12months starting from June 30th.
According to him ” The NEC met today and major decisions in line with the constitution of the party . We all aware that the tenure of current NWC and the executive members of this party both elected and appointed come to an end june this year. Considering the time left for the party to conduct all the congresses and conventions and considering that our leader Senator Bola Ahmed  Tinubu has been charged with the responsibility of reconciling all aggrieved members of our party.
“We cannot afford to approach the general election with more disputes and crises adding that party have decided on line with article 13  which empowers the NEC to carry out the functions of its convention and the NEC has decided to extend the tenure of current NWC other executive committees at various levels for another 12months starting from June 30th”  Bello stated.
Bello stated that the extension would not affect the National Convention of the party adding the convention will only be for non-elective positions.
The Governor assured  that the security operatives are working round the clock to ensure the rescue of the 105 abducted school girls in Dapchi Yobe State.
It was gathered that 104 members of NEC voted in support of the extension while 4 members voted against it .
He debunked the insinuation that the party have thrown its weight behind President Muhammadu Buhari for his second term bid. He stated that the President has not declared  his intention that is concentration  is on governance.
A heavy security presence was noticed  around the premises of the secretariat.
