25 ships discharging fuel, other commodities in Lagos

NPATwenty five ships are discharging petroleum products and other commodities at the Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports in Lagos State.

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) made this known on Friday in Lagos.

It said that the ships were discharging buck wheat, steel products, general cargo, petrol, containers and bulk gas, among other commodities.

According to the authority, the other commodities are bulk charcoal, butane gas, raw sugar, ballast, bulk corn and bulk fertiliser.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 41 other ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive at the Lagos ports from July 21 to Aug. 28.

The NPA said that the ships would bring general cargoes, bulk fertiliser, buck wheat, lubrication oil, empty containers, bulk sugar and petrol.

It added that 10 ships had arrived at the ports, waiting to berth with bulk fertiliser, general cargo, bulk sulphur and petrol.
